JAMMU, September 3: A delegation led by Rahul Sahai, Chairman of Nagar Transport Association (TNA) held talks with Pankaj Magotra (VC JDA) and senior JDA officials at Vikas Bhawan (Jammu) regarding the problems faced by the commercial establishments of Transport Nagar.
The issues discussed by the Association were asphalting of roads, lighting (high mass fires), repair of partitions, maintenance of roads and plantations, encroachment, conversion of lease into freehold rights , lease deed issues, building enforcement laws at the same level as JMC, double fee issue, JDA departmental processing issues, parking issues at Transport Nagar and time limited transfer of ownership, active sewerage and drainage, lifting old garbage, building new nallahs, etc.
Sahai insisted on the quality of the work and urged the VC JDA that the work of the UEED be carried out simultaneously. Pankaj Magotra, while interacting with Rahul Sahai and other members of the Association, showed them a PowerPoint presentation regarding the development work to be carried out in the near future on 32 crore sanctioned by the UT government for Transport Nagar.
He said Transport Nagar transport is on the cards and JDA has issued tenders to start the works in which roads, partitions, lighting, drains, beautification, paved tiles where necessary would be done. Anti-encroachment campaigns will be carried out simultaneously, he added.
The VC JDA assured the Transport Nagar Association that all issues would be addressed appropriately and that the work of JDA and UEED would be carried out simultaneously so that the money spent would not be wasted.
Magotra further assured the Association that in 15 days, many online services will be introduced by JDA for smooth and speedy work in JDA department, which will relieve people as a whole. He assured to look into the issue of parking required by trucks at Transport Nagar.
Other TNA executive members present at the meeting were Amarjeet Kukreja, Vijay Saraf, Davinder Kakkar, Ashwani Pandoh, Harpinder Anand, Rakesh Gupta, Shiv Bamba, Raju Puri, Raju Chawla, Naresh Gupta, and Satish Gupta.
